hello all! This may sound shocking to you all, but if you belived BRD to be a cheap easy job to get past on, take one look at lvl 40 shield chr +1, monster signa, CHR +3 rings (and +2) and the CHR +3 HQ headband wich is 18k. Okay that might not seem much compared to what ppl have on now a days... But for a support job class... not main DD, its one expensive job, Just like a rdm there are things that you will need, that are expensive. At my current lvl 40 BRD i have spent more than 200k on this job in all of its areas. Negative side: forget about DD (well u can damage lil..) Farming you will need to wait a lil on as brd's are not so strong. The non stop running back and forth... *sigh* Positive side: Pt? you wont even have time to put on ure seek flag often. One of the cutest AF's in game. (Tarutaru/mithra/hume) And last. Brd have the most buffing* spells/songs in the entire game. * With "buffing" i refer to ability/status improvements. Okay all ive hit 57 Bard. and uhmm like the previous post it havent been cheap AT ALL. Instruments + songs have costed me so much i just wanna sit down and sniff gasoline for a month. Not to speak of the +1 versions of the gear i had to get.. *stares at gasoline can some more* I was glad i mined for 2 weeks irl to get lots of gill... however i can say now. that i barely have any left after all the Bard equip + alchemy with pilfer. However it's for a good cause. Linkshell have 2 alchemists now. And im getting close to that lvl 60 :) Just dont talk about mining with me... BRD gets 2 Songs pre60 those are an Elegy and a March song. i tested both instantly as i got them. both the new march and elegy song is VERY effective. making the former songs i had for same being totally useless now. Elegy probably stopped IT mob from attacking 50% of times. was one hell of a elegy (slowmo song) March worked kinda liked a usual haste. but it was party based. and it can be worn + haste magic :D the older march song was not as effective. kept being weaker haste than the magical one. the new one i got is stronger than the magical haste ^^ Damn Bard is powerfull :D:D |

Everyone job in this game is good it makes me wanna vomit ^^, it'll take me so long to get them all, hopefully by the time i get a few FFXI won't be dead. :\ I always wonder when that dreadful day will come. Btw Congrats Niinah for...... being a cool brd ?! ^^ | |||

Just completed the Bard quest and am going to start lvling it. I was thinking of subing it with my NIN just to see what ppl say lol. I wish I could lvl as fast as some of the ppl in this LS, but I can only get about an hour in on weekdays, and a couple hours on weekends (the only time I see puchi is on the weekends at 6 a.m. lol, darn ausie ;P ). Anyway, bard seems really fun. | |||

Ewww, I'm lvl 64 brd now getting closer to 65, where Wind Torque (200k) and the Opo-Opo crown quest awaits me. I still need to get that erase somehow for my subbed whm and the scroll is going for 380-400k now ><. Time to take a break and farm farm farm...... I like being a Lvl55+ bard is that u never have to complain about bad party. Every party I've been been great and those Jpn with "English = X" in their comment invited me to their pt even i'm the only Eng in it^^. Brd does get boring sometimes and overall it's a fun job to play |

Hi Valdomor! I just hit 61. trying to reach 70 asap as i have purchased a Rune Blade for the Maat fight! We should skillup someday hehee 4 songs *drool* Yes i get those invites a lot. join a jp pt. you check party list and most have "JP PT ONLY" in it and you wonder what why you got invited in the first place lol Bard do get tedious. comparing to whm tedious its nada ... whm is the dull after a time being ;( |

if your brd. are reading this. and dont want to be angry. never pt the RDM Lemm god 5 hours great pt and everysecond ballad went off i didnt even have time to finnish casting the buff i was doing until there was this msg: "ballad" Never ever gonna pt this person. he didnt even cure. me and blm acted healers. funniest of all. when i was ballading him and blm our ninja shout out "cure rng pls" as rng just hit red hp. Rdm respond after curing "look i cannot do everything here guys" ninja pm tell me "lol he for real? he just debuff nothing more. not even dispell" so you know. there are really bad RDM at lvl 60-62 also this was one. rest of pt was great tho. we didnt have energy to change rdm. so we kept him and me and blm just became healers ^^ "Love you all" Niinah |

lv 64 BRD now... and Xmas tomorrow.. woa.. want lvl 70 but ill have to keep working hard for that. least i can cast Erase now with sub whm lv 32 capped. Skilling up is so much easier with bard. i can accuracy buff myself so i hit more (gain faster) so its lovely ^^ Grats and im glad you enjoy it more Cylinee and Leafix :) It's not a job you just auto attack and let tp rise. or stand still and cast. its move. cast, time. make diff pt members get diff songs. cure. debuff. remove negative buffs. run back. buff mages. and so on .. per battle ^^ It's exhausting after some hours but once you get the rhytm in. rest follows. " Heh they dont know what a bard do then to a party. Most NA still dont know how much a bard can change the partys dmg. defence. speed. mp regen. etc. But JP knows this. i get molested with JP tells if i take anon of. at lvl 25+ bard you learn Mage's Ballad. from there on ppl will invite you more and more as you get higher. hehe Niinah, i don't think i could remember what song does what >.< i would probably cast mage's ballad on the Melee and sword madrigal on the mages >,< but yea i switched to NIN....having to make a call for voke every 3 hits sometimes not even getting one....so scary at lower level >.< but soon i will be out of the hell known as Valkurm and into the wonderful haven of Qufim...^^ Ninja is tiring too |

Hmmm if needed yes to save mp. Paeon is good but remember songs get overwritten by new if u play/sing new ones. But an Paeon is like an Regen. will regen slowly. so if u rely on Paeon after a battle. you might loose that important exp chain. It goes better at 25+ just to cure and ballad instead. rest + ballad while puller is out and you should be fine. lower lvls i would reccomend defensive songs as the tanks take huge dmg at lower lvls. Some random info: Brd's Mazurka do not stack with Flee. Brd's Mazurka do stack with ninja movement boots over night time. Brd's Mazurka do stack with items like Strider's boots. 1 Brd = 2 songs ( 2 paeon or 2 madrigal, etc ) 2 Brd's = 4 songs ( 2 paeon + 2 madrigal, example ) 3 Brd's = 6 songs ( 2 paeon + 2 madrigal + 2 minuet, example) You cannot sing 4 paeons of same. as they overwrite if identical song. however you can sing a lower lvl one. and it will stick. meaning you can in theory have tons of minuet's on you with many bards. if they sing different minuets that is. Brd cannot be compared to Rdm because: Brd is non Mana using class. Rdm depends on Mana. Brd music cannot instantly heal health like rdm can do. Rdm can cure without whm subjob. Brd cannot. Rdm is the pts helping hand in healing. protection and mana pool. Brd is the pts leprechaun (not sure if correct spelling) While Rdm needs high INT to land a sleep spell, Brd needs high CHR to land a lullaby. Rdm is dependant of mp/mnd/int Brd is dependant on chr some differences in these classes. like brd can make a whole pt get ballad 1+2. while rdm only can give a single person at a time. but the rdm's refresh is faster to cast. and easier to use. Brd can also give the pt all kind of status improvements. this a Rdm cannot. but the Rdm can last way longer. when the brd cannot hold on. the rdm still goes on and on. It's a bit of preferences. i myself like boths jobs and its VERY hard to even put this up rdm vs brd cause both are as good. (yes rdm can solo. brd can too. with more trouble lol) Anyway. if i had to choose i enjoy Rdm + Brd pt's At least at higher lvls, unless mobs do petrification. the rdm can remove and brd can also the other bad things. Reason why whm still is good tho: High lvl curagas. Low hate Cure V High mp regen when resting. Cursna/Viruna/Stona/Protectra/Shellra/teleport/erase these i do have at 74 tho: viruna/cursna/teleport/erase Anyway gotta run. meeting mom! /wave |
